    1706 East Houston Street

    I freeze...
    sound of gunfire
    goes off in my house..
    my mind starts racing,
    while my body stands still...

    a deathlike calm,
    I listen for movement...

    now out of nowhere,
    there he stands
    with another mans face...

    stopped dead in my tracks,
    I speak not a word...
    I move not a limb,
my eyes do not leave his...

    he sits waiving his gun,
    I sit silently waiting...

    his eyes close
    as he begins to snore,
    I remain motionless...

    I know I'm his hostage..
    and I know,
    he knows it...

I saw every moment in my mind as i read this.
