40 days

Tell me how to get you back
Tell me what I gotta do
Can a brotha be forgiven for the
Things that I do

Can I have another chance
Im don’t claim to be perfect
I was talking on my phone
And I know that you heard it

Influenced by my guys
Telling me im better off
Thinkin I was the shit
Cause my title was the boss

Lost my sight of the things
That I know should matter most
So I offered up a truce
For I knew it you was ghost

In the darkness talking slick
And getting on ya nerves
Made a scene up at the party
When I was sippin on that sizzer

Drunk as hell stumbling
Fallin off the cizzurb
Now all ya friends is sayin
that a brotha don’t  deserve

that chance that ive been given
now im facing life alone
and all because of talking
slick on the cellular phone

40 days
I aint seen my girl in 40 days
I lost the only trust
That I earned in all my days

I was the recipient of this treatment once and my sister said don't worry, that's the nature of men. He'll call back once his friends aren't around. Well God forgives again and again who are we not to follow in his example. This poem reminds me of that fact. God will always forgive we humans don't have his mercy or Grace.
