A broken heart

    A broken heart

    Suffering
    the pain of heart break
The wince of a tear stained face
    the tearing apart
    of a broken heart

    Numbness
    losing all the feeling
    in a pain filled body
all that is felt is the dull, repetitive beating
    of a broken heart

    Loving
    through the pain
    of the left over feelings
that his false love left behind
this leaves only the lonely love
    in a broken heart

    Lonely
    but yet I am surrounded
    but it is darkness
    not people
This is only a lonely, dull beating
    broken heart

    Broken hearts
    that line the world's surface
    the pain and the hurt
of lost love of a false lover
But I guess there is really no love
    is there
So why is there a lonely, pain filled, suffering
    broken heart

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
