    Poem Commentary

    It is a far, far worst thing that I have writ, than I have ever writ before... but it was fun being a kid again. Obviously I wrote this from scratch, right here.

    A Child's Fear


    My Mountains! My Mountains!
    They have taken them away,
    I know that they were here just yesterday.

    And now I look again
    as the neighbors disappear,
    and soon I am afraid that I won't be here.

    The early winter fog,
    is cold as it can be.
    It's nearing my home and I'm sure it's after me.

    I shall hurry off to bed
    I'm thankful for this warning,
    But I fear I won't wake up, not even in the morning.

    I shouldn't be afraid
    I'm sure I'll be Okay
    I'll wake up tomorrow to a whole new day.

    Still - it's getting dark
    and I feel it closing in,
    I think I see it's eyes and a great big grin.

    "Come on in here, son,"
    I heard my folks call me
    "Help us watch your favoite show on our new TV."

    I never was so glad
    I was afraid I was going to die.
    But now my folks and I will be watching SyFi.

    To allow the mind to roam is a beautiful thing. It doesn't get hung up on one track things.

    Childhood fears are not to be taken lightly. The protection offered by ones parents is the comfort zone of our childhood.

    Indeed. The fog rolled in today - this was all extemporanious.

    Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
