a death

a death

the circulation

it was hesitant

leaving me to believe

that guilt was present

after all this time

it should have subsided

but it was fed

and it grew into something

spilling hideously

into the fresh minds

of a new day

although many days have past

since the birth of this entity

as the sun and moon

should have exhausted it

way before now

but it lives

and it is trying to cling

and expand

in a territory

where beginnings exist

in ripples

today

there needs to be a death

a relief

for a hardened heart must soften

so tomorrow

there can be another spring

Marsink commented on a death

01-17-2010

I love the polar words used to put a flesh on the challenge of overcoming grief and the expectancy of a new tomorrow to be born. A work of Heart!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
