    A dream without solitude

Another day has come and gone,
I dream of no more loneliness til dawn.
In my dreams I see a figure standing by me,
my eyes shed tears of joy no longer lonely will I be.
I feel a gentle hand caressing my cheek,
no words are spoken both of us are meek.
No words need to be exchanged,
          our faces express nothing strange.
        Gazing into each others eyes,
niether of us can tell a lie.
What we see inside our hearts,
we know we'll never be apart.
         Suddenly a blinding light appears,
I look next to me and he's not near.
I then realize the night has come to an end,
once again I'm alone without a friend.
Life goes on for another day,
I can only hope the solitude won't stay.
I try to smile no matter how bad the pain,
night will come soon and I'll dream of him again.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
