A Dream

A Dream

a monotonous task
that's what it all becomes
no feeling or emotion
behind what I've just done

not living nor dead
just floating in between
no joy or happiness
or even any dread

the pain so intense
she blocks it all
not one slip of emotion
or truth from her lips

she hides behind a mask
letting no one see
she's falling apart inside
living in a dream

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
