A Friend Gone

A Friend Gone

The sun shines
though not through my heart
which seems like it
has been riped apart.

Across the world
he must go,
how long he's gone
I will never know.

A stream of tears
runs down my face
as he gives me
our last embrace.

He turns to go
and I turn away,
"Keep him safe"
is what I pray.

Your poem is really pretty. It reminds me of when your gone which is my favorite song

thanks

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
