A Friendship Lost

A Friendship Lost

From the start you hold my hand,
dry my tears and help me stand

Are by my side through thick and thin,
laugh and cry when we lose or win.

Time goes by too quickly now,
yet we always make it some how.

After all these years you give up,
without thinking your words cut.

Now our friendship is at an end,
giving up on me is just a trend.

Isn't it amazing how bonds that seem so strong, can be so easily broken? It's happened to me before as well. I like how you wrote this. 10 from me

It's sad to see such an expensive investment as your heart be let down. Hope diferred makes the heart sick.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
