    A Girl Always Knows

I wanna believe You love me
    But the feeling often faulters.
    Wavering,
    You assure me you do.
    You don't.
    A girl always knows.

    Keeping a distance
    And getting closer
    Equally sting.
    Your eyes reflect her,
    Never me.
Say you love me but you don't.
    A girl always knows.

    You keep me around
    For what I can do
    For you and to you.
I allow myself to be used,
    Like lovers of the past.
    You say thats not true;
    But a girl always knows.

I know I'm right for you,
But our paths crossed much too late.
    And I couldn't be her.
Seeing a smile thats not all mine,
    Kissing lips kissed earlier,
And you think she doesn't know?
    A girl always knows.

This write has a double edge and can cut both ways because it is impossible to love someone who does not love themself, and men who can not let go of the past can not move forward. Good Write

I'm new to this site. I so glad to read the poems of such talented writters, like yourself. I can feel you. My sentiments exactly.

I believe a girl does know. I used to deny the existence of that sixth sense but it's certainly there. I know that time can change what that love feels like, the love that you describe in this piece. It could be real. It could get better. It could be worth holding on to... I'm not sure girls know that. I guess there aren't enough examples of it working out that way. Passionate piece with bastion of truth. Keep it up!

A good write, an enjoyable read ... twice. You are so right, women have that canny knack, wished I would have several times. A song ?

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
