    A Lesson In Humanity

They say that these are troubled times
    To this I can't deny
We continue to fight amongst ourselves
And to this I don't know why

    Our children are left unattended
    Our elders cast aside
All for the sake of money
    Ambition and foolish pride

    We willingly abort our babies
And leave them alone to die
Instead of wrapping them in our love
And holding them to our side

There's to much killing, to much hate
We've lost our will to care
We're all to blame and share this guilt
It's a burden we must bear

But to all of this there is an answer
If we pray to God above
Then he will hear our remorseful prayers
    And shower us with love

So this is our lesson in humanity
One we all need to learn
The future would look much brighter
If only to him we turn

I felt this to the pits of my being Wolf..... I want to think and believe that He will come upon others as well all around the world.... To show us all this great message that came through you........ God Himself is complete love and wants us to love each-other ourselves and Him...... Of course when we remove ourselves from the feelings of hate and unforgiveness to His love and forgiveness some just don't understand..... I struggle with staying here in His light and love at times... but when I slip He grabs me and reminds me of who He is..... red

Thanks Red. It has always been my belief that we are here for each other, not against each other. When we discover and understand the commonalities we all share, then and only then, will the world begin to "work".

These words ring so true. People have forgotten many of the old values. I am glad that others like you and I still remember what love, family and faith can bring us through.

I have a theory in writing. Dont know how true it is, but I know it works for me when I write or Im looking to read a piece or book. The first line and the last line should cause impact. Like drawing the reader to an addictive state of interest, where they must read on, cant help it. Then, the last line should make a statement of equal impact-but one of resolution, or a condition to. -Your work does this perfectly! I look for this when I choose what I will read. I would read you every time! Every piece of work, without question! This poem is simple-but the impact is so profound, and the resolution beautiful!-another great write,by a great writer!

Maddi, Thanks so much for the compliment. I'm very humbled, and grateful. I must also say, I feel the same about your wonderful poetry. You are truly one of a kind. Hugz, Chuck

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.
