    A life

    My heart it is broken.

    My soul has been shattered,

    No final words were spoken,

But none of that really matters.

You have to be brave and strong,

Don’t let them see you cry,

Cover up the pain for however long,

Be a good girl, listen to their lies.

    Smile and be polite,

    Exchange kind words in turn,

Don’t go looking for a fight,

There is still so much to learn.

    He knows the real you,

His life you took for granted

Your lies could never be true,

Your story is a little slanted.

These words I write upon this page,

Are truth your ears could never hear,

This performance I give upon my stage,

Will strike your heart with fear.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
