Poem Commentary

Written for two loved ones who lost their Mother to breast cancer.

A Mother lost to Breast Cancer

You've lost someone with a special place in your heart

Your beloved Mother...she played a very special part

She carried you in her womb...brought you into this world brand new...

You were her pride and joy...she dearly loved both of you

She was taken much too soon by this devastating disease

You and your brother left...not knowing how to grieve

With so much pain and sorrow...your lives changed forever so

Such a tragic day that affected you deep within your souls

Your Father stood witness...there by your side

In that hospital room...where you all said your goodbyes

No one knows but you...how your hearts were broken in two...

It was so hard to watch...not always knowing the right thing to do

All we wanted was to help...to take away your pain

To help you put one foot in front of the other

To make it through each day

You were both there for her... to hold her hand and watch her part

She's in Heaven with God and the Angels

Let that bring comfort to your heart

She is full of joy, completely healed ...she's watching over you too

You will see her again someday...this I know is true

Smile when you think of her...for a part of her lives forever in you

Live your lives to the fullest...it's what your Mother would want you to do

The best gift you can give her is to Cherish your life

For it was her gift to you...for your dreams you must reach for the sky

this one really came from my heart. I wanted to do something special for them. It was so hard for them to go through and still is...Thanks

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
