A Mother's Advice to her Daughter

Cast your cares to the wind
    of what you might become
You are a flower in growth
and with time you will bloom

    Let and the rain
    gently pour over you
    chase the shadows away
let the stars be your guide

There is so much in you
    that you can't clearly see
You are a rare precious stone
    being carved to its form

Take each day as it comes
    giving thanks up above
    for the growing you've done
for the pearls and the stones

    For it all slowly adds
    and becomes intertwined
    to our lives giving warmth
    to the dark shedding light

IF you could like my heart
    clearly see who you are
    you would walk unafraid
bith both feet on the ground.
