A Mother's Love Denied

A Mother's Love Denied

My heart yearns for your exceptance.
I need you to fill this void in my chest.
I wish you can hear all the screams it cries during the moment
I stare into your eyes that are filled with blankness.
I wish you can feel this excruciating ache in my body.
But your not even here when I plead for your love.
How am I suppose to hold on when the string between us is nearly apart.
Im walking with my eyes closed and my hands tied behind my back.
How could you say im not trying hard enough?
Im tired of begging for you to listen to me.
Im tired of suffocating myself when I cry, afraid of your disapproval.
A daughter shouldn't have to earn a mother's love.
A mother's love is suppose to be unconditional.
You reply with a hard look.
As if im wrong.
You tell me that im ungrateful.

-Your right....and im sorry.

Please forgive me!

I can relate, I feel I have been here on more than one occasion. Relationships between mothers and daughters can be very rough roads sometimes.

Your right. It's hard sometimes. Actually, all the time. But I guess it gets harder when you don't maintain the relationship.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
