A Painful Fate

A Painful Fate

Was my fate sealed
From the very start
Clingling tightly to
My listless old heart

Whispering secrets
Promising it joy
When indeed it harbored
A nastier ploy

So evil and spiteful
It was impossible to tame
Oozing down my body
A darkness i couldnt name

Even my feelings
I just couldn't explain
They roiled inside me
A mangling pain.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
