    A Part of the Crowd

     part of the crowd
    that's what everyone wants to be
    just to belong
    it's very plain to see

    the people trying hard
    to be the center squeeze
    of all the boys who play the game
    of all the girls hard to please

    first you're very quiet 
    to get a read on things
    then politely you make a comment
    to become a part of things


    everybody's laughing
    enjoying their part in the group
    it takes a while to notice
    that you are not in the loup


    no matter how hard you try
    your voice is never heard
    your presence never felt
    your acceptance never occured


    they totally ignore you
    to the group you don't exist
    in fact when you take your leave
    you are probably not even missed

    so don't waste your time
    you never be happy here
    save yourself the pain of rejection
    they have made it perfectly clear..

    My dear Mandi, I hear your voice very loud and clear. I really liked this poem. In my younger days, I experienced this also.

    Some people get a minute, others an hour ... we're all players on a stage at one point or another. We find our way, making it our own, those that want to walk with us , we call friends ... we walk together or take turns leading or following without having to worry about hurting feelings, we are all doing what we want. A great little write, maybe some will notice how they treated others after reading this piece. Be well k
