A Reminder

Even if the sidewalks crack along your face
I'll still jog all my fingers around
I know flowers bloomed before the streets were paved
So honey there's no need to lift them off the ground

But i'll adore you the same way
So don't be so dramatic, babe
And worry about what fashions kids are throwing in the fire
And if we both become balloons
We'll have our pie up on the moon
And i'll still be the one to hold you in the twilight, my love

And be your reminder
Because these old bones will fade
But not the love inside us
So don't be afraid

Our love will be remembered in letters and photographs
But that can be forgotten once up in flames
If that should happen i'll find ways to make you laugh
So i can always see the smile that's on your face

And if the house we built falls down
I'll build you a mansion in the clouds
When darling we are falling under the radar on a low
And if the doctors can't find my brain
And leave me counting raindrops on the windowpane
Will you still be the one to hold me in the twilight, my love?

And be my reminder
Because the world will change
Believe the love inside us
So don't be afraid
I won't be afraid
And we'll be o.k.
That i know!

Once upon a time
We were lovely, young, and bright
Turned to ghosts in a teenage afterlife
We would float around
Like two bodies in water
With octopus arms
Looking for love
Now that we found each other,
I'll never let go
Yeah we've got each other

"We're tangled up little tiger, so hold on"

These lyrics made me cry. They are so lovely and deep.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
