    A Second Too Late

    One Cold November Eve,
The Phone Rang It Was For Me
I Picked It Up and Couldn't Believe,
All The things He Was Telling Me.

    I Told Him To Wait,
But I Got There A Second Too Late.

I Went Outside In A Hurry,
The Snow Was Falling In A Flurry.
I Opened Up The Stable Doors,
Went Inside And Got My Horse
I Dug My Heels Into His Side,
And We Were Off On A Wild Ride.

He Galloped On With Great Haste,
But We Got There A Second Too Late.

    I Got To The Door,
Just As He Hit The Floor
    I Ran Inside,
    And Went To His Side.
Through My Tears My Vision Was Blurry,
I Called The Police And Told Them To Hurry.
The Police Came And Took Him Away,
And I Was Left Alone That Day.

    One Cold November Eve,
The Phone Rang It Was For Me
I Picked It Up and Couldn't Believe,
All The Things He Was Telling Me.

    I Told Him To Wait,
But I Got There A Second Too Late.

A lightning strike of sadness and lose. I was evoked when my best friend died when I was 13 years old and I was at his door and I did not realize he had a stroke and died of a secondary infection of Chicken Pox. Great poem in the you affected me. n

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
