    a secret

    My soul screams for you,
    longs for you,
yern to be embraced in you...
    so why do you run.

I kept sheets warm for you
and lit candles to guide your way
    waiting your arrival home,
    to me.

I've placed stars in the night sky for you
write you poems of love for you
    and dream only of you
so why do you run from me.

I'd walk a thousand miles for you
just to place a smile upon your face
go to hell and back to make sure you are safe
and yet you still run from me.

and after all this i still cant make you want me
for my heart is not enough
and my love will not be loved
and you'll never stop running from me.

and my secret becomes my cell.

inspiring. it hurts to love and not have love back. i hope it got better but i love the analogy of a secret to a cell. a mask is more than a piece of plastic

Its funny, when i was younger and i thought about love i never thought it would bring so much pain and grief. Its funny because sometimes thats all it brings.... I really liked your poem. But it brought up some memories that i thought were burried.

i'm sorry it brought back those memories...but sometimes we have to relive our past in order to correct the direction in which we move.i constantly rehash certain times so that i don't repeat a second time even though its bound to happen.but maybe the next time will be different, thanx for reading and feeling what i put in to it.

I really enjoy reading your poetry. It is all noteworthy.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
