    A Winter Night

Snow falls tonight as a I lay in your arms
    By the fire's warm glow
I listen to you moan softly in your sleep
And I feel your breath and oh...
How it takes my breath away and I yearn
    To wake... to kiss...to love...
But instead I watch you sleep
And I hold you close as the snow falls from above
    Watching the delicate flakes dance
I shiver...but not from the cold...
But from the warmth of your breath
Upon my naked body...wanting you so

You're welcome my dear friend Rita, reading this excellent piece, I feel the warmth of a cackling fireplace in the dead of winter when I close my eyes. :-) Bear

Beautiful Rita... this has a soft elegance to it that most poetry in this genre lack. You've nailed it. Very nicely done!

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
