Ablaze

Ablaze

I am the crafter of my own destiny

I am the map-maker

The life taker,

I am the lover, the laughter and the end.

Watch me dance, but not too close,

I am fire, I am power.

Watch me burn.

All the fuel of my soul will be spent

But it will blaze so very brightly.

I will outshine the sun for a second

And then you will see

The woman the girl in me made.

And when I fade, when all is done

There will remain a scorch mark

Burned on your skin

As a reminder of what the day does to the night.

I am the woman you danced with

The girl you smiled at

I am the dawn and the dusk,

I am an eternity in one breath.
