    “A Sea for Violet”

    Every little thought I have is of you,
    You enter my dreams and leave me breathless;
    I am like a ship at sea, lost looking for the next horizon,
    Crying, like the rain falling on my billowing sails:

    I know naught which path to take, for I am lost,
    Lost without you, my beautiful Angel.
    Sailing into a sea of turbulent turmoil.
    I search, but, know not which way to look:

    The storm without, tears me apart,
    Knowing not which way to navigate or turn.
    I am desolate on this ocean of dreams,
    Searching for one such as you, one that I love:

    My love for you, is like the sails billowing in the wind,
    Taking me to that distant horizon, one that I have always searched
    for.
    Filling me with a passion never felt or experienced,
    I am now found, on that island of blissful serenity;

    Peaceful and calm are the waves of desire consuming me.
    I hear your name whispered in my ear,
    Bringing about a flutter within my heart;
    Calming me beyond all reality and reason.

    Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
