Families split,
Homes a crumblin’
Hearts are broken.
That is life
If so say
Myself is ok
Until the next wave
Hits the shores—
Then hearts are broken-
And we are merely a token
Of war.
Hearts stolen,
Not merely broken.
Taken away in
A great haste
To a far off place
Beyond the moon
When returned –
They ain’t the same anymore.
Hearts afire
With passion and desire
Under a full moon—
Grinning down on
An Earth
Glittering with sweat
From a fire deep down inside!
