“My Morning Eyes”

 I loved watching,

 feeling you sleep as I played silent alarm.

On guard,

 as the sun gave birth,

                 the wind died

and the trees were no more shadows.

Alive in you – I crept back into your dreams…

Sitting beside you, my heart broke.

Seeing you sleep away the last of the night!

Birds singing,

       the children noisily at play,

stores were opening and your eyes still closed…

How lovely it is;

 To watch you come alive, smile

and kiss my shoulder.

I was afraid to be wake before you!

So I crept back into your dreams…

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
