    • My own two favorite poems are "Train of Defeat" and "The Story of Sorrow"

    Actor

    I was temporarily insane
when I fell in love with you.
I was blinded by your charming wit
and the silly things you do.
You barged into my world and changed
       everything I knew.
My thoughts on life and love and such
       all now hold different views.

    I didn't see it coming
when you ripped my world apart.
You lied and stole and cheated me
       while tearing through my heart.
    Your feelings were never genuine
       from the very start.
A museum you should call your home
since you're such a work of art.

    You played your game convincingly
while my heart was in your hands.
You choked it with a fist of lies
then you waved it at your fans.
You threw it out like yesterday's trash
       not caring where it lands.
You played the part and perfected the role
then I watched you as you ran.

The Oscar goes to you, my love,
as I'm left here all ashamed.
You duped me with your acting skills.
They are your claim to fame.
    Take a trip to Hollywood.
I see a star with your name.
I'll always rue the day we met
when I fell into your game.

Been there, too. Although we were married for 10 yrs. The game was still the same. Twenty years later, I'm still trying to figure out what exactly happened. It's a long story, but I finally had to walk away. Best decision I ever made. My poem... In The Quiet Of The Evening Explains how I feel about it. Good poem and I hope things work out for you. TS

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
