ADDICTION - MINE, YOURS, OURS

there is no pain greater than thinking you will die
hovered in the bathroom, praying for your life
no amount of pills could send me back to when
i was on the verge of death, dying from within
physically and emotionally, i was on my last leg
reaching out for someone, "help me i would beg!"

why do we continue to put ourselves through
such agony and torment, knowing what it will do
but once again we will try, the roulette game we play
thinking this time will be different, that something might change

the insanity leads our lives, the addiction brings us down
until once again we are where no peace can be found
when will it ever end, the games our minds play
can we ever get through just one sober day

with the strength we have within us and God on our side
we can see another day without having to hide
find that strength within you and hold on for dear life
because no one is promised tomorrow
no one is promised to survive

you are so incredibly relatable your work readily lends itself available to the vulnerable reader...you have conveyed painful tragedy triumphantly here beautiful artwork

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
