all the good girls know.

all the good girls know.

i miss the fevers and the shakes
sweet drinks, rimmed with salt
the smell of your shirt hiked up in the embrace
i can't taste the way you were anymore
the sadness in your story anymore
the way you'd let the music play all night
the fight you had with the day
the nightmares that never went away
i can't speak the song you sang anymore
featured in the midnight showing of your life
broadcasted throughout the county
followed by your cold, snowy screen
i'm sorry i forgot about remembering
i'm sorry i couldn't stay small for you
i love you, and i never wanted anything more
than for us to be safe together,
for us to hold each other
close in the noiseless dark.

love the title. love this piece. using real images to tell the story takes me right there in the situation. FEATURED IN THE MIDNIGHT SHOWING OF YOUR LIFE. great line. goodjob here.
