Am I my brother's keeper?

Am I my brother's keeper?

Am I brothers keeper
Seems like I shoulda been
Its about be 10 years
Of this shit man

And after all these years
Im thinking that I become immune
Maybe lucifer is comin’ back
To collect his due

You cant choose ya family
No matter howard ya try
And should you lie?
When this nigga need an aliby?

How can I choose man
I been up in his shoes man
I turned to god
Instead of livin like a fool man

I guess Im askin
For another chance at livin right
And pray the god let me
See my daughter another night

I got some demons
And I just cant seem to let them go
I used to drank
a whole lotta liquor yo

I miss my old school homies
The originals
When we had brick phones
And smoked philly’s yo

Back when crazy rock
Used to be a teen club
Me, Smooth Both Jasons
and  E Dub

Boy it does seem we have to give up a lot when we come to the Lord. Seems like I gave up some good friends too but it's worth it. Hopefully we can convince them of a different way to look at life because you are signing up for eternal life-not a bad deal. Great poem, great write.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
