Ambivalent skin

Ambivalent skin

Its crazy how uncomfortable I get talking about my life

Like the darkness in my past will dim my light and hinder my enlightenment

Like I’m admitting defeat If I admit what a fight it’s been

So when people ask me how I am, I’m not a liar but I lie to them

I can’t even talk about you without feeling the need to defend every memory

Because you truly are the perfect cemetery of dark and light

like If you were to be dissected, your chest would eject-

something more  akin to the yin yang symbol then the heart or normal men

you are ambivalence wrapped in skin,

like your flesh keeps the moon and sun masked within

waiting to descend as you ascend into the heavens, your two halves finally at peace

each taking equal pieces of this dirt that we call mother earth

and each having equal purpose

For now, I’ll try to show the world what I see beneath your surface

one of the best parts of becoming a parent is getting the chance to succeed at life and love again. I think we're both doing pretty great :)

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
