    America So Beautiful

Things can differentiate at the flicker of a switch.
    Off and on like relationships,
those that call me a bitch.
Though I am the farthest thing,
    from a miserable soul.
It does disturb me how the world,
    has become so very cold.
    People putting others in freezers,
    doing things to kids? Unreal.
I may not be able to change the world,
but I can write down how I feel.
At times, my head spins and it twirls,
thinking of what I can do.
Like everyone else, I sit and think,
    wishing my thoughts were true.
When are we going to stand as a people,
‘To Lift Every Voice and Sing’.
What happened to the pledge of allegiance,
to pass a neighbor and grin?
Hoping my sons can enjoy a world,
where they can be what they want to be.
I have to prove to them the hurdles,
are what makes us stronger beings.
Leading by example, I hope to make
    someone’s dream come true.
By providing an outlet to fill your heart,
with some hope from me to you.
