America the Great

America the Great

A million punches land a blow
Honored egos try to hold
Pride and doubt condense a chance
Battered wounds hence an end
A war so wicked it strikes too deep
Healing powers their will never be
Faring hearts turn to cold
Hearing minds learn not to know
Faithful air stops a breeze
Time collapses as we wheeze
Our frame is battered and bent
Promising words keep us content
Fearful of night to dawn
The world unknown grows alarm
Protected is our chant of fame
For we fear this thing called pain
Pain for which knocks us down
For here there is no cheering crowd
Alone we must conquer our faults
Together we blossom amongst it all
Character creating a place known true
Brotherhood is fresh and anew
This is an era of older days
A day in which a country was raised
Raised from ruins and bloody hands
To create courage and stable lands
Something for which we all call
The homeland known to us all
America is so beautiful and great
It will always falter have no mistake
Stead in harm and quick in joy
A symbol sought haltered poise
Our banner waves to represent
A catalyst that created equal men
Coast to Coast we are the states
United in cross cultural ways
Don’t forget from which we come
The ashes from which we sprung
The life that feeds barriers bound
Keep us level and on the ground
For if we always know our way
And keep this Country a sacred place
A place for which we all know
Harbors peace and freedom flows
Mind and thought are not a sin
Political jargon can destroy men
If we stand and believe in man
Time will grant an herald end
History shall shout a different tune
Foretelling of another healed wound
A wound that couldn’t be broke
Always healed as country grows
The United States of America
For which we are known

you words were well written and great flow.. I don't agree with the content, but respect the writers view.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
