Poem Commentary

A villanelle poem inspired by awful relationship with my ex girlfriend

An Uncouth Poem

Eyes that hold uncut truth
Your falsities fall like " tired out stripped Five-Nines "
Read as a single lie uncouth

Among your falsehoods for truth I did sleuth
Fettered in your fabricated lines
Eyes that hold uncut truth

On trial for the crimes of your youth
My lust resigns
Read as a single lie uncouth

Your secret truth burns like vermouth
Your juice tasted heavy of putrid limes
Eyes that hold uncut truth

Scared by your eyetooth
Mumbled truths of mine never refines
Read as a single lie uncouth

When she haunts the back doors of Duluth
Button up keep your flesh in line
Eyes that hold uncut truth
Read as a single lie - uncouth
