  • Wondering what the hell is wrong with the world.

Angels in Nocturne

Softly the night holds us in a velvet grip
showers us in hours of neon and bliss
swimming in deep, walking on high
cloaked in anonymity, we slide right by
these textbook houses on looking-glass landscapes
gravitate towards moonspecked hills and chill
where smoke drifts like laughter and rivers flow

Whisper silken secrets in casual disarray
waiting to taste that special moment
that burns tongues and lips, eyes and fingertips
while jealous stars watch like jaded lovers
too far gone to understand
too close to touch

Souls clothed in innocence are disrobed
in dreams and darkness and those dreams
are our salvation like a kiss
wet and clean and deeper than meaning
impossible to hold, too dear to let go

We'll wake in the morning, our hearts and dreams
fluttered away on butterfly wings
bathed in the tears of a single red rose.

Wishes left unfulfilled while awake, steal in to arrive on the dreamtrain.

Again, my deepest thanks for taking the time to read my humble offerings.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
