    Antique Brass

To long at last and after all
Alone of course, a constant theme
A ghost's only chance continuity crushed
In perpetuity at long to last

    For something shining under dull
    Something fine behind the timing
    Clockwork moments domino sliding
Forth across the shiny gray polished
    Marble, wood, stone and steel
    Progressing cycled futures fold

All in a flashing passed, a glance
    That spoke of heft voluminous
    Hand's reaction holding this
As if to guide, as if to mind
    A clutched imaginary clicking
    Keeping time.
