Are you kidding me???

Are you kidding me???

I don't understand, can you explain all of this to me? We live everyday and almost die, literally. My stomach is in knot's. Completely numb, right down to my toes. I feel the pressure behind my eyes and argue "you will not get the best of me!"
How could I not see this coming? Barreling directly for me. My sight must be blinded or my eyes shut so tight?
Screw you man, I'm brilliant, strong and maybe even pretty. I don't need you to flatter me. I know your words are not true. All I've ever asked was for you to talk and be honest with me. Oh, wait... I forgot, that's not you... That's me.
I'll make it through this world without you by my side. I guess will be okay, cause all you did was lie.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
