At first Glance
At First GlanceAt first glance a fire arose
I was afraid and waited in repose
Not knowing exactly what to say or do
You stepped my way and my heart was through
A feeling was bursting inside of me
I was afraid, but fearless I would be
I took your hand and chanced a moment’s glance
Burning with desire, with you I danced
Your eyes met mine and I looked deeper still
To see inside, what would be your will
To me would you be pure and new
And love me strong, be forever true
In short time, our love would stronger be
Joined together, was all we could see
For even a short time of absence from you
Made me long for your special love brew
I moved away from all I faced
To love and grow in your embrace
We’ve loved each other forever it seems
And you, my love, are from my dreams
How over the years, our love has grown
And with a son, our love is shown
For in our hearts, burns our love still
With each day may we find our will
To thank each other for a loving smile
For taking each other's hand and walking the miles
My heart is glad and hopeful, too.
Forever will, our love be true
