a boon to deafness and that is gods greatness

    autism a boon or bane

    dear child
    oh my dear child
what is the sin I have done
what is the sin you have done
    because
you are born without able to hear the sweetness
    of the chirping birds
    or humming of the bees
and the swirling sound of the rivers
    and
the sweet voice of your mother thats me
    I cry aloud to God:
saying Oh god what is the sin I did that
    you are punishing my child
what is the sine he did to you.
Is it that we did not remember you during our sleep
or it is due to inadvertance forgot to praise during our dreams
but it is not fair on you my God
    to punish my dear child
who is innocent as the tree
and kind hearted as the sky
which shovers the rains and provides shelter.
    Oh dear : Oh dear
    I pray you my almighty
    to hear our vows and
make everyone to raise their eye brows
by granting me a boon that you will
shower your kindness on my child and cure him from
    his deafness
and show the world about your selflessness

A flood of emotions flow through this poem and the reader can't help but feel your pain and frustration. Me being a mother of an Autistic child knows what that frustration feels like. I will say that I God has allowed me to look at in a whole different way. I see the lives that my child has touched in such a way that ordinarily would not have been had he been any other way. I embrace the Autism, learn all that I can about it and try to help others along the way. It has shown me a whole new world that only and Autistic child knows; some of it much like our own and not so beautiful at times.I wouldn't change a thing in my child; he a beautiful gift of God that paints the world a different color and leaves a lasting impact on those around him.

I am very moved by this poem. The wrenching anguish of the parent, the bewildering why, how has this happened, and the imploring to God to "show the world about your selflessness."

I thought I'd already left a comment but it doesn't show! It said I could leave another... :? Anyway, I also have a little boy with Autism. He doesn't speak well, and didn't potty train until 6 years old. He doesn't even know how to tell someone his own name or who I am to him, but I know that he loves me. I have faith that he will improve over time, as his condition could be much worse. Luckily he is not deaf as well as unable to talk well. This poem doesn't hurt my feelings at all I completely understand the emotion behind it. Very well written.

thanks for understanding my comment. It was just a poetry to show the feelings which one might have experienced due to that situation and with all my heart I hope to see the child become normal.

actually i had never heard about autism till i saw it in y our profile and I was under the impression that it is connected with audibleness i.e hearing problem. for your childs sake I wrote this lines without knowing the true meaning after your reply i went through a friends profile and found that her child was suffering from autism later I came to know that it is connected to complex developmental disability that typically appears during the first three years of life and is the result of a neurological disorder that affects the normal functioning of the brain, impacting development in the areas of social interaction and communication skills. Both children and adults with autism typically show difficulties in verbal and non-verbal communication, social interactions, and leisure or play activities. Sorry if the poetry hurts your feelings.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
