    Babygirl

I received the best gift one winter
In my world she is the center

I may not have given birth to her
But she is what I live my whole life for

She is my angel with so much love
My tears for a child were sent to GOD above

She healed my heart with just one smile
For my babygirl I will walk that extra mile

The pain in my heart has been freed
This little girl is just what i need

I like your poem. The poem provides a sentiment shy of sentimentality. The end-rhymes are a little forced but overall I enjoyed the write. You are a good writer. Keep them coming!

Don't have a child of my own

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
