Bathroom Mirror Monologue

Hey, how's it going?
I've noticed that you're very unhappy lately
Things seem to be falling apart before your very eyes
I'm so sorry, you deserve so much better than I can give you right now
I promise things will be better someday
I know your life isn't turning out how you dreamed it would
But it's life, you'll work through it
Just know that no matter what you do, I'll always be here for you
I'm really the only one you can count on in this world
If you don't like how something is going, do something
Nothing changes if nothing changes
And you have it in you, I've seen it
Don't just stand there with a blank expression
Make your life your own
Don't let anything limit you, not even the sky
Be who you are and be proud of it
As for the people who don't accept you, you don't need them
You're better than them
Although it may not be what you planned, you're doing okay, kid
You've changed in these past months, and I like what I see
Love yourself and others will follow

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
