Battle Cry

On the rim of a canyon I look over the land,
In a vision I see an Indian band,
I witness a fight between the red and the white,
As the ghostly slaughter is revealed to my sight,
Outnumbered and running from their last stand,
Their blood forming rivers all over the land,
I fall to my knees with my head bowed to the ground,
Trying to block out the murderous sound,
How can we justify such merciless crimes?
To the Indian children who live in our times.
I beg for forgiveness with my hands held to the sky,
And to the warrior I offer one last battle cry!

My..My..My..July 4th...How Inspired.. Rocky these are deep righteous words of stability and strength. To live, plant well (doing good) and reaping from the good seeds we have Considered, Weighed, and Chosen to wisely plant. Always considering the crop that will come up from that seed. Taking time to be thoughtful in the actions we are thinking of taking towards others. Brilliant Rocky! Honest Warrior cries to walk honorably and without regrets...another fav and 10 my good friend..words of a wise leader..spoken well are as righteous seeds planted deep, that grow up stable, strong, prepared to endure the winds and storms of life. And when the winds blow violently against it to assail and assault that tree, it's deep roots continue to hold it steadily in it's right place. May we be good sowers who chose our seeds wisely, and plant even when it is cloudy, that we might reap a full and bountiful crop in due season, that yields health and healing to the nations...again love this poem Rocky..thank you yet again...Tina..SpiritSong"

Thank you so much for your kind recognition,, so often one say's and noboby hears.. This poem was written and dedicated to a fallen pal of mine on that night. It was the most natural piece that I've ever done! And you are so right on.. crop wise .. I am also a horticulturalist,, I know the value of the seed, the dedication, and the care that a garden require's.. It takes work ! and I love the challenge with nature and with man,.. A little hope and a lot of pesistance goes A LONG WAY!

Living in Kapolei I would think you would write something about the tragedy that has befallen the Hawaiian people; They got screwed even worse than the Indian.

I haven't written since I've been here, but guess what it will probably be about! Thank's and keep in touch.
