    BEEN THERE DONE THAT

                            BEEN THERE DONE THAT                    

    I met a long haired hippie

    whose past has taught him well

    He pulled himself from the bottom

    and freed himself from hell
     

    An Angel burning in a fire

    his broken wings of lead

    They held him down Left him bound

    A life embraced with dread

     


    He asked THE LORD to give him death

    and let his wings decay

    There's nothing left a helpless man

    the hell if he will pray

     

    I'm on this earth for just one thing

    to take the world with me

    You see I'll suffer to my death

    till then seek misery

     


    Come with me to my hell

    and snort a line of coke

    I'll roll a joint that never ends

    from dusk till dawn we'll smoke

     

    Lord I'll ask you one more time

    I have no more to tell

    The LORD just cried "OH SON" he said

    I'll lift you from this hell

     

    Your wings of life renewed again

    come walk with me awhile

    No time to stop your journey now

    you've walked so many miles


     

    Teach the things that you possess

    give your life to me

    If just to change one life on earth

    you've done my destiny

     

    You lived the pain and felt insane

    what better way to teach

    When people cry and ask you why

    you've practiced what you'll preach

     

    Now take your knowledge

    Spread the word be honest and commit

    My son you see there's no one

    that can say you hypocrite

     

    You've lived the pain and felt insane

    and felt the burning fires

    Your wings decayed had dying days

    Now teach your new desires

    A man truly saved, turns back to save others. Good to hear. So few understand anything that principle and inevitably find themselves swept away again.
