    Being Hurt

Whenever darkness falls and I'm alone
I wonder if I'll ever know
what keeps me going inside this drone
    and mumbling

Somedays are cool and sunny sun
I think then , when all is done'
I'll be ok and life's begun
    I'm not just stumbling

But quick as ever it can fade
I'll once again sit in the shade
    and coldness that forever bade
    me home

As far as I can ever see
the ittle child that was me
never left and she is she
    still

I feel like I'll never grow
like all the others in the tow
    I'll alwasy be way below
    the mill

    Strangers some and strangers go
But they all seem the same to me, you know
    Whether friend, family or foe
    it's indifferent

Sometimes alone is where I want to be
It seems much easier to be with me
than with them who just can't see
    what's meant

I know I'll never fit the mold
That I'm different, I'm even told
I will never be "in" the fold'
    Not me

But sometimes I can see right through
And maybe that is what's scaring you
So you find a reason to be rude
    and flee

But "what goes around comes around"
I''ve seen it work that way....profound
So I'll sit back and watch you clown
    and fall

And when you do, I won't cryl
I'll sit and watch you try to fly
out of the mess, you'll wish to die
    But won't

Cause life is but a game to learn
you must go on and you must earn
your way backup where you won't burn
    or gloat

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
