Below Ground
It feels like my journey
Started below the ground
Seems I dug forever
Before I was found
The weight of stress
Always on my shoulders
Felt like I was carrying
Two huge heavy boulders
Struggled to make it
Through the day
As a small child
Never got to play
Nursing my wounds
Hiding my bruises
He was always the one
That always accused us
Tripping and falling
Trying to just get up
Too much to handle
Had to deal with too much stuff
Too scared to fight
Never did anything right
Couldn’t sleep at night
Wished he was out of sight
Always trying to be my best
Never knowing what was next
There was never any rest
Was labeled a worthless pest
Body beaten really bad
Now starting to go numb
Missing out on true love
Feeling like enough is enough
I fought and fought
This battle and finally won
When God sent me Jesus
HIS PRECIOUS SON
