    Beneath These Still Blue Waters

    Nestled within,
    snuggling against
    the forest arms
    lays the perfect escape.
    Walls lift high,
    enshrouding them to care.
    Flowing down
    the music of clear blue water-
    soothing and refreshing
    against the skin.
    Dive beneath the mirrored glass
    and just below the surface
    look up to the sky-
    image misted over,
    distinction illusive;
    free from illusion's destructive mind-
    escape from you life-
    flee from this
    and break the bonds,
    so simple it seems-
    escape from reality.
    Stand beneath the cascading stream,
    the liquid washing away-
    leaving want of care.
    Breath deeply the mystical waters-
    healing waters,
    make your wish;
    lift your arms
    and step into
    the freedom to dream
    within the mind,
    and for a moment,
    feel free of time.

    As I read this piece I felt as though I was dreaming. Your choice of words was so descriptive and precise I could almost feel and see the surroundings, yet I could feel a hint of mystique. Kyma63

    I thought you dscribed the peaceful setting perfectly.

    A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
