beware

*

searching frantically for what i need
in haste i forgot where i sowed the seeds
hold my hands thunderstorms with kites
more afraid of noise than the flashes of light
i lie down in beds
they wipe the sweat from my head
as i dream

stalking silent like statues in the park
i can't see faces in the shadows after dark
what i came here for, is it right or wrong
i never know until the end of the song
i lie down in beds
they wipe the sweat from my head
as i dream

methods may be suspect and partially obscene
i say what i think but not what i mean
my clothes are pristine but my soul's unclean
i take orders in oil like bad machines
i lie down in beds
they wipe the sweat from my head
as i dream

Excellent write, and wonderful flow that kept on, even after it ended. Great piece, and I will be sure to read more when I am given the chance.

Fantastic! The second paragraph I wouldn't call entirely eerie but it made my heart beat. Your pacing is something that gets under your skin.

Thank you for finding the time to read me. It is such a nice compliment to get under one's skin. Thank you very much.

Many of us can relate to this feeling of trying to figure out our place and having anxiety about the future. You really gave meaning and clarity of your point of view through your words. Great write..........E

thank you for time , i really do appreciate it !

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
