Birds

Birds

Plummage ruffled
throats trilling
everyones in the process
of billing
their words like birds
shilling, breeding on
with their song.

How does it sell?
Does it do well?
Is it popular?
Does it have
recognition through internet doppler?

When democracy determines poetry
the questions becomes:
who's the best at promotion,
at beating their drums?

It isn't aesthetics,
just technological
athletics.

The worthy and the lucky
mingle beyond what all of us
try to do: set out our shingles
and expand our pond.

Well said and well written. Love the Netherlands. I have a Romanian companion. He speaks five languages including Russian. My exchange student was Dutch. I am becoming international.

this is great and so very true. like in our daily lives and now the internet, promote until it nauseates, or chill and find a more comfortable place in the speck we call existence. A single spark is as brilliant as the most colossal star, just shorter lived.
