    Birth and Death

It is dark in here, and wet and warm
And I know that I am safe from harm
Yet, through this door I soon must go
Into a world I do not know

I stir with joy as I prepare
To lift my arms and rend the air

The time is now - I am alone
I shout it, "Oh, please take me home!"
I lift my arms and call again
"Oh, my God! The pain, the pain.!"

    But heal I must
    And to life adjust

The years wore on in time
Much love and strife were mine
But now I feel as I grow weak
I never found what all do seek

My life was spent to no one's good
I could have been a piece of wood

It is dark in here and dry and cold
As I have grown so weak and old
Yet through this door I soon must go
Into a world I do not know

This is great! I like how you described that the beginning and the end of life are somewhat the same- going into the unknown...and also how one must adjust to life! Very good!

When you think of it - we enter down a tunnel to light, and, they say, we exit toward a tunnel of light. The point is - life is enless, it does not cease - ever.

The journey continues my friend as long as one seeks that last breath of fresh air from which serenity can be achieved. Nice write.

I often try to get in the skin of others and express how I think they might feel - thisis one of those. Glad you enjoyed it.

    Funny thanks

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
