Bitterness

Bitterness

See it there? Upon her face?
 The mocking sneer,
It masks her fear.
 Unreceiving, despising grace.
Openly, at love she leers.
 Allowing none within her sphere.
Bitterness! It rules her heart.
With all lives sins, her soul is smeared.
Death, it crawls so slowly near,
 Waiting, wanting, deaths curtains part.
At last she's free, from all these fears.

Great poem. Bitterness is such a horrible feeling, yet such energy is derived from it. Freeing yourself from all your fears, at least to me, is a subject I like writing about/seeing others explore in their work

Same for me, i enjoy writing on it because i think its something we all struggle with at one or more points in our lives.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
