Black and Red

    Black and Red

These colors I chose for my hair yesterday
    Black and red strips
Perhaps it was the mood I was in
I wanted the colors to be extreme

I chose the red for the anger I'm feeling towards you
I'm so tired of holding on
    I'm literally losing strength
    It's like I'm pulling a rope-
The way you would in a 'tug of war'
But the more I try to hang on and pull
It seems to slip slowly through my fingers
This rope is you and your love
You don't even realize that I'm losing the battle
But you won't tell me it will all be okay
Because there's another you care about
For a while now I've been standing by your side
    But you always chose her
    And never me

With the hurt, the tears never hesitate to fall
Especially in the darkness of my room
The black night hides my shame well
No one suspects my feelings, even in the light
This is what the black color is
The numb feeling I have when I think of you
I'm so very tired and yet the night never brings me sleep
My crying keeps me up, robbing me of my breath
The pain I'm  feeling, not many can describe
But I'll do my best to try
It feels like a knife stabbing my heart
The blade twists and turns bringing more pain
You don't know what you're missing
But of course, you can't in the dark

    Red and black
Two colors can express my feelings
It's amazing how they can come together...
    To make the perfect harmony.

Even though the black is expressing a darkness the light will eventually come, the time will also come where you will given one who cares for you and loves you for who you are in the mean time keep writing I enjoyed your style of poetry.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
